Ingredients

  • 1 cup water
  • 1 teaspoon water
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour

Instructions

  1. Combine 1 cup water and butter in a medium saucepan.
  2. Bring to a boil and remove from heat immediately.
  3. Mix the all-purpose flour and dry spaghetti sauce mix in a bowl.
  4. Add the flour mixture to the water and butter mixture all at once and stir until blended.
  5. Return the mixture to heat and cook, stirring constantly, until it dries slightly.
  6. Remove from heat and let cool for about 5 minutes.
  7. Add 4 eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition until the mixture pulls together and resembles mashed potatoes.
  8. Drop small mounds (about 3/4 inch in diameter) from a teaspoon onto a lightly greased baking sheet.
  9. Let the puffs sit for about 20 minutes before baking.
  10. Combine 1 teaspoon water with the remaining egg and beat until blended.
  11. Brush each puff with this egg wash.
  12. Bake at 400°F (200°C) for 18 to 20 minutes or until golden brown.
  13. Cool completely before filling.
