Ingredients

  • 1 can fruit pie filling (blueberry, apple, or cherry)
  • Duncan Hines blueberry muffin mix
  • 1/2 stick margarine
  • 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup chopped pecans (optional)

Instructions

  1. Sift out the blueberries from the can of fruit pie filling and soak them in cold water.
  2. Drain the blueberries thoroughly.
  3. Place the fruit filling in an 8-inch square baking pan.
  4. Sprinkle cinnamon and almond extract evenly over the fruit filling.
  5. Sprinkle the drained blueberries over the filling.
  6. In a separate bowl, toss the dry muffin mix, melted margarine, and chopped pecans (if using) with a fork until crumbly.
  7. Sprinkle the crumbly mixture evenly over the top of the filling.
  8. Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for 30 to 40 minutes or until the topping is golden brown.
