Instructions
- Sprinkle yeast in warm water; let stand 5 minutes.
- Mix milk, sugar, salt, shortening and lemon rind.
- Stir until shortening is well mixed.
- Stir in egg.
- Add raisins and nuts.
- Add 1 1/4 cups flour and mix well.
- Add rest of flour and knead until smooth.
- Put in bowl and rise double.
- Punch down and let rise again for 45 minutes.
