Ingredients

  • 1 c. sliced onion
  • 2 Tbsp. fat
  • 8 frankfurters
  • 2 (No. 2) cans pork and beans
  • 2 Tbsp. molasses
  • 1 Tbsp. prepared mustard
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 2 medium tomatoes peeled and sliced

Instructions

  1. Cook sliced onion in hot fat until tender but not brown.
  2. Slice two frankfurters into rounds and combine with beans, molasses, mustard, and salt.
  3. In a greased 2-quart casserole, layer the bean and frankfurter mixture with peeled and sliced tomatoes and cooked onions.
  4. Arrange the remaining frankfurters in a spoke fashion on top of the casserole.
  5. Bake in a moderate oven at 350°F for 30 minutes or until thoroughly heated.
