Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 to 2 lb. lean round steak
  • 1 cup Ricotta cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Mozzarella cheese
  • 1 small onion
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tablespoon parsley
  • salt
  • pepper
  • oregano

Instructions

  1. Cut the lean round steak into strips.
  2. Blend Ricotta cheese, Mozzarella cheese, chopped onion, egg, parsley, salt, pepper, and oregano to make the filling.
  3. Spread the cheese mixture over the meat strips.
  4. Roll up the meat strips and secure them with toothpicks.
  5. Place the rolled meat in a crock-pot and cover with tomato-herb sauce and red wine or sherry.
  6. Cook on low for 10 to 12 hours.
