Tips & Substitutions

For a richer flavor, consider using butter instead of margarine. If you want to add a bit of heat, try including some red pepper flakes or a dash of hot sauce. For a vegetarian version, substitute bratwurst with a plant-based sausage and ensure the cheese is vegetarian-friendly. This dish can also be enhanced with a splash of apple cider vinegar for extra tang.

Serving Suggestions

This hearty skillet dish pairs beautifully with a side of crusty bread or a light salad. Serve with a dollop of sour cream or a sprinkle of fresh herbs for added freshness. It makes a great main course, especially when accompanied by a side of roasted potatoes or a green vegetable. Consider enjoying it alongside a slice of Honey Sourdough Bread.

Storage & Reheating

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. To reheat, place in a skillet over medium heat, stirring occasionally until warmed through. Alternatively, microwave in a covered dish for 1-2 minutes, checking frequently to avoid overcooking.
