Ingredients

  • 1 loaf French bread
  • 1 qt. milk
  • 3 eggs
  • 3 Tbsp. margarine
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 2 Tbsp. vanilla
  • 3/4 c. raisins

Instructions

  1. Place bread cubes and raisins in a buttered baking dish.
  2. Bring milk to a boil in a separate pan.
  3. Mix eggs, sugar, and vanilla in a bowl.
  4. Pour hot milk over the egg mixture and stir thoroughly.
  5. Pour the mixture over the bread and raisins in the baking dish.
  6. Dot with butter.
  7. Bake at 300°F until firm, about 1 hour.
