Ingredients

  • 1 qt. stale bread
  • 2 c. milk
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/4 c. raisins
  • 1/4 tsp. nutmeg

Instructions

  1. Beat the eggs and add sugar, milk, and nutmeg.
  2. Butter a baking dish.
  3. Arrange the bread in the dish and pour the liquid over it.
  4. Let stand until the bread has been thoroughly soaked.
  5. Add raisins.
  6. Bake in a moderate oven at 350° for 25 to 30 minutes.
