Ingredients

  • cauliflower
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • pinch of salt
  • fine bread or cereal crumbs

Instructions

  1. Break cauliflower into flowerets.
  2. Soak in cold, salted water to remove any bugs.
  3. Parboil in salted water for 10 minutes; drain water immediately to stop cooking.
  4. In a small bowl, break and slightly beat the egg, milk, and pinch of salt.
  5. Place the bread or cereal crumbs in another bowl.
  6. Dip cauliflower into egg mixture; coat well, then dip into crumbs.
  7. Cover well.
  8. Fry in oil or shortening until brown, turning to brown all sides.
