Ingredients

  • 1 lb. large mushrooms
  • 4 c. cold water
  • 1 Tbsp. lemon juice
  • 1/4 c. butter, melted
  • salt

Instructions

  1. Wash the mushrooms thoroughly.
  2. Trim the stems to 1/2-inch length.
  3. Soak the mushrooms in cold water with lemon juice for 5 minutes.
  4. Drain and dry the mushrooms well.
  5. Brush the mushrooms with melted butter.
  6. Sprinkle with salt and pepper.
  7. Broil the mushrooms 6 inches from the heat until lightly browned, about 10 minutes.
  8. Serve with the remaining melted butter.
