- Sprinkle both sides of spareribs with salt and pepper. Place ribs in a well-greased shallow roasting pan. Pour butter and molasses over ribs. Broil ribs 7 to 8 inches from heating element, 20 minutes on each side; baste frequently with pan drippings.
