- Melt butter and brown sugar together.
- Allow the mixture to cool.
- Add unbeaten eggs and mix well.
- Add the remaining ingredients: self-rising flour, a dash of salt, vanilla, and chopped nuts; mix until combined.
- Pour batter into a greased shallow pan.
- Bake at 325° to 350°F for 30 minutes.
