Ingredients

  • 3 lb. roast beef (chuck)
  • salt
  • pepper
  • garlic salt
  • flour
  • 3/4 cup finely chopped onion
  • 1 1/2 cups water

Instructions

  1. Slice the roast beef about 1-inch thick, ensuring it is cut properly to avoid stringiness.
  2. Season both sides of the meat with salt, pepper, seasoning salt, and garlic salt, being careful not to over-salt.
  3. Dredge each piece of meat in flour on both sides.
  4. Brown the meat in a frying pan until both sides are golden brown.
  5. Place the browned meat inside the pressure cooker on the meat rack.
  6. Add 1 1/2 cups of water and the chopped onion to the pressure cooker.
  7. Cook on medium heat for about 40 minutes under pressure.
  8. Once cooked, use the juices to make gravy.
  9. If the gravy isn't thick enough, dissolve some cornstarch in water and add it to thicken.
