Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup Karo syrup
  • 1/3 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 8 oz semi-sweet chocolate
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 3/4 cup unsifted flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts

Instructions

  1. Grease two 9-inch pie pans.
  2. In a 3-quart saucepan, bring corn syrup and heavy whipping cream to a boil over medium heat, stirring occasionally.
  3. Add semi-sweet chocolate and stir until melted.
  4. Set aside 2/3 cup of this chocolate mixture.
  5. Add butter and sugar to the remaining chocolate mixture and stir until butter is melted.
  6. Remove from heat.
  7. Stir in eggs and vanilla.
  8. Gradually stir in flour, salt, and chopped walnuts.
  9. Pour the batter into the prepared pie pans.
  10. Bake at 350°F for 20 minutes or until firm.
  11. Cool before serving.
  12. Serve topped with ice cream and chocolate sauce.
