Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup light corn syrup
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts or pecans

Instructions

  1. Butter and flour a 9-inch round cake pan.
  2. In a saucepan, heat butter and light corn syrup until the butter melts.
  3. Stir in semi-sweet chocolate chips.
  4. Stir until the chocolate is melted and smooth.
  5. Add sugar and eggs, blending well after each addition.
  6. Stir in vanilla extract, flour, and chopped walnuts or pecans.
  7. Pour batter into the prepared pan.
  8. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 30 minutes or until tested done.
  9. Cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then turn out onto a rack to cool completely.
