Brussels Sprouts With Onion

Ingredients

  • 1 pint Brussels sprouts
  • salt to taste
  • 2 Tbsp butter
  • 2 Tbsp minced onion
  • 1/4 tsp ground cumin
  • freshly ground pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Pull off any tough outer leaves of the Brussels sprouts and make crossed gashes in the base of each.
  2. Put the sprouts in a saucepan, cover with water, and add salt.
  3. Bring to a boil and cook for 10 to 12 minutes, or until tender.
  4. Drain well and set aside.
  5. Heat butter in a saucepan over medium heat.
  6. Add minced onion, ground cumin, salt, and freshly ground pepper.
  7. Cook, stirring, until the onion is wilted.
  8. Add the cooked Brussels sprouts and stir until they are coated with butter and hot.
