Ingredients

  • 1 - 1 1/2 lbs ground beef
  • 1 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 Tbsp basil
  • 1 (15 oz) can tomato sauce
  • 2 (6 oz) cans tomato paste
  • 1 box lasagna noodles
  • 2 eggs
  • 3 cup cottage cheese
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese shredded
  • 1/2 lb mozzarella cheese shredded
  • 1 tsp salt

Instructions

  1. Brown the ground beef with 1 1/2 teaspoons of salt.
  2. Add basil, tomato sauce, and tomato paste to the beef. Simmer for 30 minutes.
  3. Meanwhile, boil lasagna noodles until tender and shred the mozzarella cheese.
  4. In a medium bowl, beat the eggs, then add cottage cheese, Parmesan cheese, and 1 teaspoon salt.
  5. Spread a layer of the meat mixture in a 9 x 13-inch pan.
  6. Layer cooked noodles over the meat, then spread with the egg and cheese mixture.
  7. Sprinkle with shredded mozzarella cheese.
  8. Repeat the layers, ending with a top layer of mozzarella cheese.
  9. Bake at 375°F for 30 minutes, or refrigerate and bake the next day for 45 minutes.
