Ingredients

  • 1 large apple
  • 1-2 Tbsp butter
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 2 tsp dry milk
  • 3 Tbsp milk
  • 1 Tbsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla
  • 1/4 tsp cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Peel and thinly slice the apple.
  2. Place a pan in the oven with butter; once melted, remove from the oven.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, beat the eggs with sugar until well combined and slightly frothy.
  4. Add the melted butter, flour, dry milk, milk, baking powder, vanilla, and cinnamon to the eggs and sugar. Beat at low speed until the mixture is well combined.
  5. Place a layer of apple slices in the prepared pan.
  6. Pour the batter over the apple slices in the pan.
  7. Bake until the cake is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean, about 30 minutes.
  8. Allow the cake to cool completely before removing from the pan.
  9. Transfer to a serving dish and serve with whipped cream if desired.
