  • 1 can Ro-Tel
  • 1 large can tomato sauce
  • 1 Tbsp. chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1 can chili beans
  • 4 c. water

Instructions

  2. Add the tomato, Ro-Tel, tomato sauce, chili powder, garlic powder, chili beans, and water to the meat.
  3. Cook the mixture for about 45 minutes to allow flavors to meld.

Tips & Substitutions

For a richer flavor, try adding a splash of Worcestershire sauce or a tablespoon of smoked paprika. If you prefer a spicier chili, consider using hot Ro-Tel or adding diced jalapeños. Ground turkey or chicken can be excellent substitutes for hamburger meat, making this dish lighter without sacrificing taste.

Serving Suggestions

Serve Buster's Chili hot, garnished with shredded cheese, sour cream, or chopped green onions. It pairs beautifully with cornbread and crackers for a hearty meal. For a complete meal, consider serving it alongside a fresh salad or a side of Beefy Baked Beans(Prepare 1 Day In Advance).

Storage & Reheating

Store leftover chili in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days. To reheat, simply warm it on the stovetop over medium heat, stirring occasionally, or microwave in a microwave-safe dish until heated through. You can also freeze it for up to 3 months.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I make this chili ahead of time?

Absolutely! In fact, making it a day in advance allows the flavors to develop even more. Just store it in the refrigerator and reheat when ready to serve. This is a great option for meal prep or gatherings.

What can I do if the chili is too thick?

If your chili turns out too thick, simply add more water or broth until you reach your desired consistency. You can also add extra canned tomatoes or tomato sauce for added flavor without compromising texture.

Is there a vegetarian version of this chili?

Yes, you can easily make a vegetarian version by replacing the hamburger meat with extra beans, lentils, or textured vegetable protein. You can also add more vegetables like bell peppers and zucchini to enhance the dish.
