Butter Dips are quick, flaky breadsticks with a buttery flavor, perfect as a snack or accompaniment for casual gatherings and family meals alike.

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1 1/4 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons sugar
  • 2/3 cup milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 450°F.
  2. Melt butter in a pan in the oven and remove.
  3. Stir dry ingredients together in a bowl.
  4. Add milk to the dry ingredients and stir until combined.
  5. Knead the dough lightly.
  6. Roll out the dough to 1/2-inch thickness into an 8-inch square.
  7. Use a floured knife to cut into strips 4 inches wide, then cut crosswise to make 18 sticks.
  8. Dip the sticks in melted butter and place in 2 rows in a baking pan.
  9. Bake for 15 to 20 minutes until golden and cooked through.
  10. Serve hot.
