Ingredients

  • 2 c. milk
  • 6 c. flour
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 c. granulated sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 c. butter
  • 1/2 c. mashed potatoes
  • 1/2 yeast cake
  • 1/4 c. warm water

Instructions

  1. Mix the dissolved yeast in warm water and let it sit until frothy.
  2. In a large bowl, combine scalded milk, sugar, beaten eggs, melted butter, mashed potatoes, and salt.
  3. Gradually add the flour to the mixture, mixing thoroughly to form a soft batter.
  4. Add the yeast mixture to the batter and beat well.
  5. Cover the bowl and let the batter rise in a warm place until morning.
  6. Once risen, shape the dough into rolls and place on baking sheets.
  7. Bake in a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) until golden brown.
