Ingredients

  • 1 large head cabbage, chopped
  • 1 green pepper, chopped
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon dry mustard
  • 1 teaspoon celery seed
  • 1 cup cider vinegar
  • 2/3 cup vegetable oil

Instructions

  1. Mix sugar, salt, dry mustard, and celery seed with cider vinegar and vegetable oil and bring to a boil.
  2. Pour the hot dressing over the chopped cabbage, green pepper, and onion.
  3. Toss the salad to combine thoroughly.
  4. Cool the salad and then refrigerate.
  5. Serve chilled and enjoy, with the salad kept refrigerated indefinitely.
