Ingredients

  • 1/2 lb. kielbasa
  • 1 small head cabbage
  • 1 medium onion
  • 4 carrots
  • 2 1/2 qt. chicken broth

Instructions

  1. In a Dutch oven, brown the kielbasa slices.
  2. Drain the kielbasa and reserve 2 tablespoons of drippings.
  3. Set the sausages aside.
  4. Add the onion and cabbage to the drippings and cook until lightly browned, about 7 minutes.
  5. Add the carrots and chicken broth to the pot.
  6. Cover and simmer for 30 minutes, until vegetables are tender.
  7. Add the cooked sausages back into the soup.
  8. Heat thoroughly and serve.
