Ingredients

  • 2 heads cabbage, shredded
  • 2 carrots, shredded
  • 2 green peppers, chopped
  • 2 red peppers, chopped
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 4 cups sugar
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 2 cups vinegar
  • 2 tsp celery seed

Instructions

  1. Mix the shredded cabbage, carrots, chopped green peppers, chopped red peppers, and salt in a large bowl.
  2. Let the mixture stand for 1 hour.
  3. Combine the remaining ingredients: sugar, water, vinegar, and celery seed.
  4. Bring the mixture to a boil and cook for 1 minute.
  5. Allow the mixture to cool.
  6. Pour the cooled mixture over the cabbage slaw and mix well.
