Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup onions, sliced thin
  • 1/2 cup fresh mushrooms, diced
  • 1 tablespoon margarine
  • 1/8 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 cup canned tomatoes, chopped
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon oregano
  • 1/4 teaspoon basil
  • 1/4 cup red wine
  • 2 teaspoons cornstarch
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste

Instructions

  1. Melt margarine in a large skillet.
  2. Saute onions and mushrooms with garlic powder in margarine until onions are transparent.
  3. Add chopped canned tomatoes, pepper, oregano, basil, red wine, tomato paste, water, and cornstarch to the skillet.
  4. Cover and simmer for 1 hour.
