Ingredients

  • 2 c. self-rising flour
  • 1/2 c. butter
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 2/3 c. sultanas
  • pinch of cinnamon
  • 1 large egg

Instructions

  1. Rub the self-rising flour, butter, and sugar together to form fine crumbs.
  2. Add the pinch of cinnamon to the mixture.
  3. Make a well in the center of the mixture, then add the beaten egg and sultanas.
  4. Mix to form a firm dough.
  5. Roll out the dough to about 1/4-inch thickness.
  6. Cut into rounds with a cutter.
  7. Cook on a heated griddle or heavy frying pan until brown on both sides.
  8. Cool slightly, then spread with butter before serving.
