Ingredients

  • 1 cup flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 beaten egg
  • 1/3 cup tomato juice
  • 2 teaspoons cayenne pepper
  • 1/2 cup minced onion
  • oil (for deep frying)

Instructions

  1. Combine dry ingredients in a bowl.
  2. Add egg, juice and pepper.
  3. Stir in onions.
  4. Drop by teaspoonsful into hot (350F) oil.
  5. Fry approx.
  6. 5 minutes.
  7. Drain well on paper towels.
