Ingredients

  • 2 1/3 cups flour
  • 1 cup cornmeal
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 4 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 1/4 cups sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 2/3 cup melted margarine
  • 1 2/3 cups milk

Instructions

  1. Combine dry ingredients in a large bowl.
  2. Add eggs, melted margarine, and milk; stir until just mixed.
  3. Pour batter into a greased 9 x 13-inch pan.
  4. Bake at 425°F for 20 to 25 minutes until golden brown.
  5. Alternatively, use cupcake liners in muffin tins for individual servings.
