Candy Coated Carrots

Sweet and tangy candied carrots with a hint of heat from Tabasco, perfect as a unique side dish for family dinners or festive gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb. carrots, sliced lengthwise
  • 1/4 c. brown sugar
  • 1/8 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 c. margarine
  • 1/4 tsp. or less Tabasco sauce
  • 1 tsp. lemon juice

Instructions

  1. Boil carrots until just tender.
  2. Drain and set aside.
  3. In a pan, combine butter and brown sugar; mix well over low heat.
  4. Stir until bubbly.
  5. Add Tabasco sauce and salt.
  6. Remove from heat.
  7. Add lemon juice and carrots.
  8. Stir gently to coat well.
  9. Serve warm or cold.
