Ingredients

  • 1 c. brown sugar
  • 1/2 c. granulated sugar
  • 1/2 c. sour cream
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 1/2 c. walnuts or pecan halves

Instructions

  1. Butter the sides of a heavy 1-quart saucepan.
  2. In it, mix the brown sugar, granulated sugar, and sour cream.
  3. Stir until the sugars melt.
  4. Cook to soft ball stage (236°F).
  5. Add vanilla.
  6. Beat until mixture begins to thicken.
  7. Add nuts.
  8. Stir until well coated.
  9. Turn out onto a greased cookie sheet.
  10. Separate into individual pieces and let cool.
