Ingredients

  • 1 pkg dry active yeast
  • 3/4 cup water (105-115°F)
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 egg
  • 2 1/2 cups flour
  • soft butter or margarine

Instructions

  1. Dissolve yeast in water in a 2 1/2 qt bowl, then add sugar, oil, salt, and egg. Stir to dissolve the sugar and salt.
  2. Stir in 1 cup of flour until the mixture is smooth. Cover with a cloth and let rise for 15 minutes.
