Ingredients

  • 4 eggs
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1/2 cup shortening
  • 3 tablespoons cocoa
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2/3 cup flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 1 cup chopped nuts
  • 4 tablespoons hot water

Instructions

  1. Combine all ingredients: eggs, sugar, shortening, cocoa, salt, flour, baking powder, vanilla, nuts, and hot water.
  2. Mix until well blended.
  3. Pour into a greased baking pan.
  4. Bake for 30 minutes at 350°F.
  5. Sprinkle with powdered sugar before serving.
