A delicious microwave caramel corn treat with rich caramel flavor and crispy texture, perfect for sharing at parties, movie nights, or as a sweet snack anytime.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup popcorn
  • 1 stick butter or oleo
  • 1/4 cup corn syrup
  • 1 1/2 cups brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/2 to 1 teaspoon baking soda

Instructions

  1. Pop the popcorn in a brown paper bag in the microwave oven.
  2. Put butter, corn syrup, and brown sugar in a saucepan.
  3. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring constantly.
  4. Boil for 2 minutes.
  5. Remove from heat and add vanilla and baking soda.
  6. Mix thoroughly and pour over the popcorn in a paper bag.
  7. Shake well to coat the popcorn evenly.
  8. Microwave for 90 seconds, then shake well.
  9. Microwave for another 90 seconds, then shake well.
  10. Microwave twice for 30 seconds each, shaking well after each.
  11. Pour into a large bowl and enjoy.
