Sweet and savory caramelized tomatoes featuring toasted bread and a hint of brown sugar, perfect for brunch or a light appetizer with rich flavors and a satisfying texture.

Ingredients

  • 6 medium tomatoes
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar, melted
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3 slices white bread
  • 1/3 cup butter
  • dash of pepper

Instructions

  1. Cut the tomatoes from the blossom and remove the pulp.
  2. Place the tomatoes in a baking pan.
  3. Remove the crust from the bread and cube it.
  4. Combine the bread cubes with the tomato pulp, melted brown sugar, butter, salt, and pepper.
  5. Fill the tomato shells with the mixture.
  6. Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for 30 minutes.
  7. Garnish with parsley before serving.
