Ingredients

  • 2 cups warm water
  • 2 packages active dry yeast
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 2 tablespoons soft butter
  • 1/2 cup plus 1 tablespoon grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons oregano
  • 4 1/4 cups flour

Instructions

  1. Combine 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, 3 cups flour, and other ingredients in a mixing bowl.
  2. Beat the mixture for 2 minutes; then add the remaining flour gradually.
  3. Let the dough rise for 45 minutes.
  4. Beat down the dough and turn it into a greased or floured pan.
  5. Sprinkle with 1 teaspoon Parmesan cheese on top.
  6. Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 55 minutes.
