Tips & Substitutions

For a richer flavor, consider using wild mushrooms like chanterelles or morels instead of standard button mushrooms. If you're short on time, you can use pre-sliced mushrooms. To enhance the herbs, try adding a pinch of dried thyme or marjoram. Adjust the cayenne to your spice preference, and if you want a vegetarian version, substitute butter with a plant-based alternative.

Serving Suggestions

Serve the Champignons Aux Fines Herbs Au Gratin as a delightful side dish alongside roasted meats or grilled fish. It pairs beautifully with a fresh Hungarian Cucumber Salad for a refreshing contrast. For a complete meal, consider adding a simple green salad or crusty bread to soak up the delicious oils.

Storage & Reheating

Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. To reheat, place the dish in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for about 10-15 minutes or until warmed through. Avoid microwaving, as this can make the mushrooms rubbery.
