Ingredients

  • 2/3 cup shortening
  • 1 1/4 cups packed brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 Snickers candy bars (2.07 oz each), chopped
  • 1/2 cup quick cooking oats

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, cream shortening and brown sugar.
  2. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract.
  3. Combine the flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt; gradually add to the creamed mixture.
  4. Stir in chopped Snickers candy bars and quick cooking oats.
  5. Drop by rounded tablespoonfuls 2 inches apart onto greased or parchment-lined baking sheets.
  6. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 10 to 12 minutes or until lightly browned.
  7. Remove from oven and let cool on wire racks.
