Cheddar Spinach Spread
Ingredients
- 8 oz. pkg. cream cheese, softened ⓘ
- 2 Tbsp. onion, chopped ⓘ
- 5 strips bacon, cooked and crumbled ⓘ
- 2 oz. sliced, canned mushrooms, chopped ⓘ
- 1/2 c. shredded Cheddar cheese ⓘ
- parsley to taste ⓘ
- seasoned pepper to taste ⓘ
- 1/8 tsp. minced garlic
- salt to taste ⓘ
- 1/16 tsp. paprika ⓘ
- 1/2 lb. fresh spinach ⓘ
- 1/4 lb. black olives ⓘ
Instructions
- Saute onions and spinach in bacon grease until tender.
- Chop spinach.
- Mix all ingredients together and refrigerate overnight to blend flavors.
- Heat 30 to 45 minutes (in a small casserole dish) in 350° oven.
- Garnish with black olives and a spinach leaf.
- Serve with Swiss cheese crackers.
- Makes 2 cups spread.
