Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1/3 cup butter or margarine, softened
  • 1/3 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 1/2 cups Gold Medal all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup quick cooking or old fashioned oats
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3 cups Cheerios cereal
  • 1 cup raisins

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, cream together sugar and softened butter or margarine until well combined.
  3. Add vegetable oil and vanilla extract; mix thoroughly.
  4. Beat in eggs one at a time until smooth.
  5. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
  6. Gradually add dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing well after each addition.
  7. Stir in oats, Cheerios cereal, and raisins (if using).
  8. Drop spoonfuls of dough onto ungreased baking sheets, spacing them apart.
  9. Bake for 10 minutes or until golden brown.
  10. Allow cookies to cool slightly on the baking sheet before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
