Ingredients

  • 8 oz. ricotta cheese
  • 8 oz. shredded mozzarella
  • 1 egg
  • parsley flakes
  • 1 loaf frozen bread dough, thawed
  • pizza sauce

Instructions

  1. Roll the bread dough into a large rectangle on a floured surface.
  2. Mix ricotta cheese, shredded mozzarella, egg, and parsley flakes in a bowl.
  3. Spread the cheese mixture onto the dough, keeping away from the edges.
  4. Fold the dough around the cheese filling to form a calzone shape.
  5. Moisten the edges of the dough with water and press to seal.
  6. Place the calzone on a cookie sheet and bake in a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) for 20 to 30 minutes, or until golden brown.
  7. Serve warm with pizza sauce for dipping.
