Cheese Daisies are savory, buttery cookies with sharp cheese and a hint of red pepper, topped with pecans—perfect for cheese lovers and entertaining guests.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 sticks margarine or butter
  • 1 1/2 cups sharp cheese, grated
  • 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese
  • 1/8 teaspoon red pepper
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 cups plain flour
  • Pecan halves

Instructions

  1. Cream the margarine and two cheeses together with a hand.
  2. Add the plain flour, salt, and red pepper to the mixture.
  3. Mix well until combined.
  4. Shape the dough into four long rolls.
  5. Wrap each roll in wax paper and chill for 30 minutes.
  6. Slice the chilled rolls into silver dollar-sized rounds.
  7. Place a pecan half on top of each slice, if desired.
  8. Bake at 350°F for 7 minutes or until lightly tan around the edges.
  9. Remove while hot and cool on Scott towels.
