Ingredients

  • 1 bag frozen hash brown potatoes
  • 1/2 cup melted butter or margarine
  • 16 oz sour cream
  • 1/2 cup chopped onions
  • 1 can cream of chicken soup
  • 2 to 2 1/2 cups shredded Cheddar cheese
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/4 cup melted butter

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Combine all ingredients except for the last melted butter and corn flakes in a large mixing bowl.
  3. Transfer the mixture to a greased baking dish.
  4. Bake uncovered for 1 1/2 hours or until golden on top.
  5. During the last 30 minutes of baking, sprinkle with corn flakes and drizzle with the remaining melted butter.
  6. Return to the oven and bake until the topping is golden brown.
