Ingredients

  • 1 loaf frozen bread dough
  • 1 egg
  • 5 Tbsp milk
  • 3/4 tsp grated onion
  • 1/4 tsp dash salt
  • 1/2 lb Cheddar cheese
  • caraway seed or poppy seed

Instructions

  1. Thaw and raise the frozen bread dough according to package directions.
  2. When risen, spread the dough in a greased 8-inch square pan.
  3. Grate the cheddar cheese.
  4. In a bowl, combine the egg, grated onion, salt, and milk.
  5. Add the grated cheese to the egg mixture and spread evenly over the risen bread dough.
  6. Sprinkle with caraway or poppy seed, dividing if desired.
  7. Bake in a preheated oven at 425°F (220°C) for 20 to 25 minutes until golden brown.
