Ingredients

  • 1 pkg. yellow cake mix
  • 3 eggs
  • 3/4 cup butter
  • 2 cups pumpkin
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ginger
  • 1/4 teaspoon cloves
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2/3 cup milk

Instructions

  1. Reserve 1 cup of cake mix for topping.
  2. Combine the remaining cake mix, 1 egg, and 1/2 cup melted butter in a bowl.
  3. Mix well until crumbly.
  4. Press the mixture into the bottom of a greased 9 x 13-inch baking pan.
  5. In a separate bowl, mix pumpkin, sugar, eggs, melted butter, milk, cinnamon, ginger, cloves, and salt until well combined.
  6. Pour the pumpkin mixture over the crust in the baking pan.
  7. Sprinkle the reserved cake mix evenly over the pumpkin layer.
  8. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for approximately 40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  9. Allow to cool before serving.
