Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup dry white wine
  • 1/2 cup margarine
  • 2 teaspoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 package dry yeast
  • about 3 cups flour
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese

Instructions

  1. Combine wine, margarine, sugar, and salt in a small saucepan. Cook over low heat until margarine is melted and mixture is very warm.
  2. Cool slightly.
  3. Combine yeast and 1 1/2 cups of flour in a large mixer bowl.
  4. Add the wine mixture and eggs to the flour mixture.
  5. Beat at medium speed for 2 minutes.
  6. Add cheese and remaining 1 1/2 cups of flour gradually, beating constantly to form a soft dough.
  7. Knead on a floured surface for 8 to 10 minutes or until smooth and elastic.
  8. Place in a greased bowl, turning to coat the surface.
  9. Let rise, covered, in a warm place for 1 1/2 hours or until doubled in bulk.
