Cheesy Cube Steak

Ingredients

  • 1 (6 oz.) can tomato paste
  • 1 c. water
  • 1/4 c. chopped onion
  • 1/4 c. green pepper
  • 2 Tbsp. vinegar
  • 1 Tbsp. brown sugar
  • 3/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • 1 tsp. oregano
  • 6 beef cubed steaks
  • grated Cheddar cheese

Instructions

  1. In saucepan, combine ingredients, except steaks and cheese. Simmer for 10 minutes.
  2. In heavy skillet, brown steaks in 1 tablespoon oil or spray skillet with Pam.
  3. Pour sauce over steaks. Simmer 25 minutes.
  4. Sprinkle cheese over steaks.
  5. Cover until cheese melts.
  6. I like to serve this with rice.
