Cheesy, spicy biscuits with seasoned cheese and garlic, perfect for breakfast, snack, or party platter, offering bold flavors and a flaky, tender texture.

Ingredients

  • 2 c. sifted flour
  • 3 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 c. shortening
  • 1/2 c. preseasoned shredded taco cheese
  • 3/4 c. milk
  • 2 Tbsp. butter
  • dash of garlic powder or garlic salt

Instructions

  1. Sift together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  2. Cut in the shortening until blended into fine crumbs.
  3. Add the preseasoned shredded taco cheese and mix well.
  4. Stir in the milk until just combined.
  5. Drop spoonfuls onto a baking sheet and bake at 375°F (190°C) for about 15 minutes until golden brown.
  6. Serve warm, optionally brushed with melted butter and sprinkled with garlic powder or salt.
