Ingredients

  • 3 egg whites
  • 1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 (3 oz.) package cream cheese
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 cup chilled whipping cream
  • 1 cup miniature marshmallows

Instructions

  1. Heat oven to 275°F (135°C).
  2. Cover a baking sheet with heavy brown paper.
  3. Beat egg whites and cream of tartar until foamy.
  4. Gradually beat in 3/4 cup sugar, one tablespoon at a time, until mixture is stiff and glossy.
  5. Spoon meringue into desired shapes on the prepared paper, building it upwards.
  6. Bake for 1 1/2 hours.
  7. Turn off the oven and leave the meringue inside with the door closed for 1 hour.
  8. Remove from oven and let cool.
