Ingredients

  • 1 package white cake mix
  • 1 1/4 cups water
  • 3 eggs
  • 1/3 cup oil
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 2 cans pitted red cherries with juice
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon red food coloring
  • 3/4 teaspoon almond extract

Instructions

  1. Prepare the cake batter as directed on the package and pour evenly into a 9 x 13-inch pan.
  2. In a bowl, combine the canned cherries with their juice, sugar, cornstarch, red food coloring, and almond extract.
