Ingredients

  • 2 jars maraschino cherries
  • 1 jar marshmallow cream
  • 4 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon almond extract
  • 12 ounces chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cake paraffin
  • 1 small block white almond bark
  • 1/3 cup margarine
  • wax paper

Instructions

  1. Drain the maraschino cherries and set aside.
  2. Melt margarine in a bowl, then stir in marshmallow cream and powdered sugar, one cup at a time, mixing well.
  3. Form the mixture into small round balls, flatten them, place a cherry in the center, then roll and seal to enclose the cherry.
  4. Place the formed candies in the refrigerator to cool.
  5. Put chocolate chips in a double boiler and melt.
  6. Add paraffin to the melted chocolate mixture and continue melting.
  7. Once the wax is almost melted, add the almond bark and melt completely.
  8. Insert a toothpick into each cherry candy and dip into the melted chocolate mixture, coating thoroughly.
  9. Place the dipped chocolates on wax paper to set.
